Day 22: Let The Flowers Crack The Concrete

Let the flowers crack the concrete
Creating fractured fractals in the street
A mathematical maelstrom
Dividing beauty by defeat

The sum of the parts
Is larger than the holes
Where the flower beds bloomed
Uprooting street light poles

Colors defibrillate long dead cones
Atrophied by the overuse of rods
In this rebirth of earth
There's no dirt, only sod

There's no religion, only God
There's no chains, only links
There's no locks, only keys
There's no bars, only drinks

There's no crashing except from waves
There's no honking except from geese
There's no screaming except from gulls
There's no beatings except from wings

So let the flowers crack the concrete
Let the fire hydrants leak
And soon the world we know will whither
And we'll harvest harmony.
