The perfect life will never come
So I will drink alone tonight
Watch the slowly setting sun
And the dying of my light.
So I will drink alone tonight
Watch the slowly setting sun
And the dying of my light.
1 poem a day 7 days a week 52 weeks a year
I don't care to live anymore
But I don't want to die
I'm just too tired to carry on
Marching through this life
In a moment of clarity, I finally saw
The millions of decisions that got me this far
The millions of turns I took along the way
And I'm overwhelmed by the millions of mistakes that I've made.
I can't tell if my life is a cautionary tale
You tell your children to teach them self control
Or if I'm on the verge of a forgotten truth
Lost deeper down this rabbit hole
I am a lonely mixture
Of self loathing and regret
I won't ask for your forgiveness
I know I don't deserve that
I'll slink away and disappear
Evaporate like the morning dew
I don't want to start again
That wouldn't be fair to you
