Pulling out a lot of poems i've written in the past. It's vacation.... Hopefully i'll have a lot of new material
146
I’ll never know her name
But I can’t forget that face
Peering from beyond the glass
Little eyes so full of hate
Staring at the men in line
Who were picking one by one
Little girls in dresses red
Hiding from what was to come
But this little one
Her number 146
Wouldn’t watch the tv set
Instead she bit her lip
And stared the old men down
Twice her size 4 times her age
Their twisted minds would fantasize
About the coming rape
And her little sister only 8
Was curled up on the floor
Willing for her heart to stop
So it wouldn’t hurt no more
And then men would slap their wads of cash
In the hand of the slave master
And they’d lead the girl into a room
And against her will undress her
And beat her till she’d stop her screams
Her howls and shrieks of pain
The wolves would have their way, their fill
And leave the poor lamb slain
And they’d make their way back out the door
And next week they’d be back for more
While the little girl back in her cage
Would crumple on the floor
And because she was still new
And not yet broken in
She’d wipe the tears from her eyes
And lift back up her chin
And she’d stare and she’d stare
And she’d hope and she’d wait
For the day that she was rescued
For the day she’d run away
But as the days went by
Her fire began to fade
Her body turning slowly lifeless
Gave up hope of escape
And she still sits in the room
At the wall of glass, transfixed
And every day men have their way
With number 146...
