I lay awake again
My burning eyes refuse to close
I tell myself it's time to sleep
I count each fluffy leaping sheep
As dawn begins to glow
I buy a pack again
And strike another match
The tar is starting to make me wheeze
But without it I can't breathe
The stress would make me snap
I pour a glass again
And lift it to my lips
The clinking ice and amber hues
Makes the fire go down smooth
That numbs me with each sip
